Our first game of the new season saw us travel to Treherbert who were comfortable 9 - 0 winners last week. Despite good player numbers for pre-season we were hit with a few boys who were not available.
We started the strongest and were looking the more dangerous going forward with Brandon Coombes forcing a cracking save from the home keeper when he tipped the long range effort onto the bar. Treherbert hit the bar themselves soon after when a cross from out wide almost caught out the Town keeper. We took a deserved lead on 20 minutes when Ethan Williams was fouled by the home keeper inside the box, Coombes fired the penalty home. We got our second goal of the game on the half hour mark when a high looping corner from Coombes was met by Nathan Williams to score from close range. The home side got a goal back before half time when a long low shot hit the post and fell kindly to their striker to score from just inside the 6 yard box. Half time 1 - 2
We started the 2nd half same as the first being the stronger side and looking comfortable and it wasn't long before we extended our lead when captain Leon Jones's is effort from 25 yards beat the Treherbert keeper. We were well on top and playing the better football but then 15 mins from time we started making silly mistakes and giving away stupid free kicks, one of which saw the home side get a goal back. Soon after Treherbert drew level from a corner when their player rose the highest to head into the corner. We still had chances ourselves to get back in front but couldn't find the target at the vital time. 5 mins from time the home side were awarded a penalty which they converted and pinch an unlikely win. Final score 4 - 3
There were still positives to take from this game despite the loss, it is the first game we have played together as a team and were the better side for most of the match and only through our own indiscipline towards the end let us down

Our second game of the season saw us play AFC Porth away from home who were coming into the game after a big win the week before. The home side started the better and were sharper and quicker to every ball as we still seemed to be stuck in the changing room and were lucky not to be two down within the first 5 mins. We did eventually settle down and come into the game and had a few half chances ourselves catching them on the break. Porth did take the lead inside 15 mins when their striker just broke the offside line and went through to finish and put the host one up. Just before the half hour mark the home side doubled their lead when a well driven shot from outside the box found the back of the net. We had our fair share of the chances but was unable to find the target and went into the break two down. Half Time 2 - 0.
We started the second half a lot better and soon find ourselves on the score sheet when Shane Jones out paced their back line to go through one on one and calmly tuck the ball into the back of the net. We were now on top and pilling on the pressure and soon got a deserved equaliser with what has to be contender for goal of the season from Nathan Williams when hit volley from just inside the half found the back of the net. We were now well on top but the home side were pushing and re-took the lead when we failed to clear a corner and a shot from the edge of the box found the net. We weren't behind for long though when again Shane Jones was causing the home side problems and his shot was saved only for substitute Dillon Smith to fire in from close range. With 10 minutes we took the lead for the first time when again Jones's pace was to much for the home side and he cut in from the right and a powerful shot was to much for the home keeper. In the 75th minute we sealed all 3 points when the ball fell kindly to Dillon Smith 8 yards out for him to grab his second goal of the game. Final Score 3 - 5

STANLEYTOWN 1 - 6 CAMBRIAN/CLYDACH[A]
Shane Jones
We were at home this week to league leaders Cambrian/Clydach(A) and with a few absentees the squad was stretch and this was going to be a tough game.
The game started quite evenly with both sides looking dangerous on the break, however it was the visitors who took and early lead but we were quick to equalise when Shane Jones's shot bounced over the head of the Cambrian keeper. In what was a competitive half with both sides battling well it was only down to a few misjudgements that saw the away side take a flattering 5 - 1 lead into the break.
The second half continued is a similar way to the first half with both sides competing well, but with a few injuries picked up by us plus some tiring legs and the fact the away side had plenty of fresh legs to bring on it was always going to be a difficult half for us. Vut we battled well and defended as a team and kept them away from our goal and it was only in the final minutes that they did manage to break through to score their 6th. Final Score 1 - 6
Despite the result on paper it did not truly reflect the game and overall it was a good hard battling performance which did deserve a better result. We need to take this performance into the rest of the season and we will win more games than we will lose

We dominated the game from the off and was only for the away keeper pulling off some good saves that kept us out for so long, the breakthrough came just inside 10 minutes when Brandon Coombes shot from just outside the box was to hot for their keeper to handle. We doubled our lead 5 minutes later when again Coombes broke into the box and his left foot drive gave the keeper no chance. Coombes turned provider on the half hour mark when his deep corner was headed in by Michael Williams. Just before half time Joe Bartlett went on an individual run beating several players before calmly slotting in from 6 yards. Half Time 4 – 0
We continued in the same manner in the second half and within 6 minutes of the restart we increased our lead when Nathan Williams struck the ball from 40 yards which found the top of the net. Soon after Williams got his second of the game when his well placed shot from just inside the box found the far corner. The visitors got a goal back with 20 minutes to go when they caught us napping and quickly took and in-direct free kick and fired in from 10 yards. With 5 minutes left we got our 7th when captain Leon Jones picked the ball up 20 yards into the half and went on a run beating several players as he broke into the box got 10 yards from goal but the ball then fell kindly to Dillon Smith who smashed home to get his 3rd goal of the season. Final Score 7 - 1
