The game started with high tempo with strong tackles from both teams, a shot from key man Keiran Tann led to a Treforest handball off the line and a further red card for the Treforest player, penalty taker Liam Eason stepped up for the penalty and calmly slotted it well into the bottom corner, as the game went on the tackles became more aggressive, later leading to a brawl where midfielder Keiran Tann and a Treforest player were forced to leave the field by a red card. A quick counter attack at the end of the first half led to a Treforest goal, 1-1 half time.

A very sharp restart from Stanleytown led to a dashing run by left midfielder Ben Edwards cutting inside and placing it into the bottom corner. Stanleytown were still on top as Treforest hardly left their own half as the Stanleytown back 4 defended sublimely. A Ben Edwards corner then led to a third goal, a header from the skipper Jarrad Walters which doubled their lead. Final score 3-1.

Stanleytown started off on the front foot playing some incredible football in the Ton & Gelli half, although chances were wasted. Until skipper Jarrad Walters made a sharp run towards the back four and gave the ball to Ben Edwards who's intended cross flew into the top corner. A Ton & Gelli goal kick led to slightly sloppy defending which led to a Ton & Gelli equaliser 1-1 half time.

Again Stanleytown started off on top keeping the ball with some ticcy-Tac football. Although were not able to find a way to take the lead. A Ton & Gelli free kick then led to a headed goal from their centre half. All 11 players on the Stanleytown side decided to up their game winning every ball possible, until finally the equaliser came from a Long throw into the box by Ben Edwards and a great header by Keiran Tann. 2-2 final score.

This was the 3rd attempt to play this semi final and the 4th time we have faced Tonyrefail this season with Tonyrefail just edging it 2 – 1 in results, although all games had been close and well contested which set up this competitive semi final which could have gone either way.

The game started evenly and open with neither side sitting back but going for win but with the rain falling just before kick off it took its toll on the field with one half very quickly become a slippery mud bath which didn’t help either side and made the game scrappy at times. Mid way through the half we took the lead when Kurt Hughes went on a 40 yard run, beating several defenders breaking into the box and eventually the ball fell to Keiran Tann who from 8 yards out fired home, 1 – 0. The lead was short lived though when we conceded a free kick right on the edge of the box and they slotted the ball into the corner giving Dylan Bruford no chance in the Town goal. Just before half time we re-took the lead when Cory Anstee’s power on the edge of the box was too much for the Tonyrefail defence to handle and he blasted the ball past the keeper. Again the lead was short lived and the away side equalised almost on the stroke of half time when their striker just beat Bruford to the ball and his shot, which Bruford got a hand to, was just out of the reach of Callum Westcott on the Town goal line. The second half was as evenly as contested as the first but with the pitch seemingly getting worse and players slipping it was hard to get any rhythm going for either side and you sensed early on that one goal could win it and could come from either side. Clear cut chances were hard to come by with the threat from either side coming from corners and free kicks, Tonyrefail had the best chance of the half when their striker broke the offside trap to get onto a through ball, and with the field holding it up got there and rounded the oncoming Bruford for what seemed and easy tap in only for Stanleytown full back Jordan Williams’s brilliant reading of the game and coming out of nowhere to make a last ditch tackle to prevent the striker given them a 3 – 2 lead and what could have been the game. With extra time looming both sides were still pushing and it was the Town who made it count, when Tann got on the end of a cross to the back post and forced a good save from the visiting keeper only for the ball to the feet of substitute Rhys Evans inside the 6 yard box whose left foot shot found its way into the bottom corner to book Stanleytown’s place in the 2015 under 18s cup final against Ton & Gelli. Final score 3 – 2.
